Jeff has been a ballroom dance instructor, coach, professional competitor and choreographer since 1979. He is best known in the ballroom dance world for his mastery of technique in his teaching and his unique choreographic style.
After about ten years of teaching at franchised and independent dance studios in San Francisco and the surrounding areas, Jeff became an independent instructor in 1988. He danced competitively in the Professional American Smooth division for 20 years and was coached by every major national and world champion during that period.
In 1991, Jeff was an original founding partner of a well known ballroom studio in San Francisco where he taught and trained not only students but some of the top professional teachers in the Bay Area.
In 1995, he produced, directed, and performed in a series of 30’s style nightclub events called the Top Hat Club. Jeff drew from the talents of his professional colleagues and together they performed live floor shows in a nightclub atmosphere. Recently, he revived the Top Hat Club and intends to continue producing these events in the years to come.
In addition to teaching adults and training competitive dancers, Jeff has been an instructor in San Francisco’s Midweeklies children’s dance program for over a decade. During the school year he teaches nearly 400 sixth and seventh graders the art of ballroom dancing.
Currently Jeff will be teaching all International classes at Pick School of Ballroom Dancing with Erin Pick and is available for private lessons and coaching.
